Do you sell your music in any form? When someone buys anything from you, how can you overdeliver on the purchase so that they aren’t just happy, they are delighted?

When someone buys one of your songs, send them a sticker with your band’s name on it. If they buy three cds, give them a t-shirt. Not only will they think you’re generous, with the shirt, they will be doing you a favor by wearing your name for the world to see.

If your fan pays to download an album of your music, let your autoresponder (you do have an autoresponder, right?) send them a link to a bonus song the next day. Tell them it was an out-take, and you are giving it just to your favorite fans who have bought your album. People love free stuff, and they love feeling special even more.

Go to cafepress.com and look at the items that you can put your band’s name and logo on. They print on demand and their prices are reasonable. You can sell things directly from their site, or order them for you to send out as part of your own music promotion plan.

On a budget? Buy some 8 by 10 photo paper, print the picture that’s on your web site and sign it. You can then give out autographed 8×10’s of everyone’s favorite rock star.

Whatever you decide to sell, put your web address on it so everyone can find you. Never assume they will remember your website, put it right in front of their face and remind them over and over again that they should come to your band’s website and learn more about you and your music.
